FOUNDER & OWNER OF ECDC CONSULTING

Diego Calandrino is the Founder and Owner of ECDC – Energy Consulting, (ECDC). As a Owner, he is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s long-term strategy and effective prioritization of resource allocation to realize continuing value.

Prior to founding ECDC in April 2019, Diego served as a Head of Energy Management at the Municipality of Genova beginning in 2015 and a Senior Project Manager at MottMacDonald LTD (UK) beginning in 2007. In these roles, he was responsible for the overall management of the department’s operations, including strategic planning, human resources, and the delivery of global consulting services.

Diego has 15 years of professional services experience, having served as a consultant as well as holding several corporate management positions. His tenure as a Head of Energy Management Department has been marked by rapid growth of energy efficiency initiatives within the City of Genoa. He has a Master Degree of in Mechanical Engineer from the University of Palermo (Italy). He continued his education via completion of a Ph.D. in Education obtained at the University of Burgos (Spain) and several Executive Education programs, with a focus in finance and management.

Diego his a member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers in the UK, (CIBSE), registered as a Chartered Engineer at the Engineering Council. He is also a member of the Ordine degli Ingegneri della Provincia di Trapani in Italy, where he is registered as a professional. He is a qualified Energy Management Expert (EGE) under the UNI CEI 11339:2009, having obtained the ICMQ Certification EGE n. 17-05020. His area of expertise also include combined-heat-and-power (CHP), district-heating, geothermal energy system (such as energy-piles for the London public transport sector), low-carbon design, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and the development of energy services for Smart Cities.
